All set up (20/5/09)

I'm finaly set up in Europe, I have decided to reside in the beautiful city of Edinburgh in Scotland. After passing though for a few days, Alyce and I just fell in love with the city and quickly got onto making ourselves at home. We now have a house in the city centre, spent yesterday sorting out our new bank accounts and national insurance numbers, so now it's just a case of finding some work. Wish me luck!

I'm outta' here. (5/3/09)

Greetings zealous Wyld Card Design Fans. It's been a while between news posts, I know, but with very good reason let me assure you.

As stated last post, I am planning a big working holiday for most of this year over in fabulous Europe! Intense planning for this mammoth event has somewhat limited my interaction with this website. Despite no updates in the last month or so, I assure you work has been going on behind the scenes.

I've been taking a long hard look at this site and deciding what I like, what works and what doesn't. I am re-structuring the port folio page to include some nice case study focus pieces that really guide you through the design process, rather than the random slideshow approach the site currently uses. The updates should be in place next week.

Site updates will be probably be equally as irregular as they have been as I'm depart for Europe next Sunday! Exciting stuff! I still have a tonne of things to do before I leave: another week of work, dinner with family, weekend away with friends, two birthdays, finishing this website and a massive going away gig with my band.

Busy/exciting times.

Website finally online! (7/1/09)

Hello and welcome to my website and its first news post. In this post I'm going to cover a few things of importance in my life at the moment as well as outline my plans for this site.

If you read the site introduction, you've probably already gathered that Wyld Card Design is to be my ever-updated collection of professional and personal design work that I hope will appeal to any design lovers, future clients or potential employers. Make sure you check back every once in a while as I hope to regularly resuscitate the site with fresh content and save it from the jaws of stagnant lifeless internet litter. Regular rejuvenation will come in the form of recent design projects that I'm happy with as well as the usual blog style musings on topics of interest.

In other news, I'm about to embark on my European backpacking holiday! If I am to believe Hollywood I am expecting this to be a coming of age tale of self discovery mixed with comical hi jinks. In reality, it's probably going to be tough, but I expect it to be rewarding and enjoyable none the less.

A short history lesson about myself, I finished my studies at the end of 2007, spent all of 2008 working in a small Graphic Design firm. While I'm so grateful to be working in an industry I'm passionate about and interested in, I feel I'm far too young to be stuck behind a desk accumulating work experience, when I should be utilizing my unique position (one of no dependencies such as kids or mortgages) to attain more life experiences. Now I'm counting the days til March 15th when I will take to the skies and head off for my planned base of operations in Scotland. As you can probably guess, website updates will probably become irregular while I'm backpacking across the content, but I will probably hit the occasional internet café for an update and I am planning to be home sometime before Christmas at the very latest.

Thanks again for visiting the site, hope you like my work, if you feel like it, email me to say hi or drop me some kudos!
